in the sound installations busted and busted2, police radio
live streams are used which are available from the internet. for the
installations, it does not matter whether these streams are real or a
complete fake.

busted: Klangkunstmuseum, Kulturbahnhof Kassel 2004
busted2: Fassadengalerie mount warning, Berlin, November 2, 2004

for busted, eight of those streams were used a basis for an algorithmic
realtime arrangement, which was played back over eight small loudspeakers.
since the material is constantly mixed and the sound quality of the streams
is quite bad, the listeners had to get very close to the speakers in order
to possibly understand some of the contents. at the same time, the network
traffic was visualised which was produced when downloading the streams.

busted2 used the live streams directly, which were transfered into
an iron-barred transporter used as a police car in film business.
seven small speakers distributed the streams in the car, which was fully
accessible by the visitors. the complete technical equipment used for this
installation was open and visible, the computer screen showed the stream
players and the audio routing as it was used.
